After only a 3 hour wait, we were in to get X-Rays (which I couldn't attend because I'm extremely pregant). Payton did not like sitting with a nurese while Mommy waited outside the X-Ray room (neither did I... not saying I cried or anything). After the tears were over, the results came back that she had slightly fractured her elbow and needed to be in a splint for 7-10 days. This must have happened while playing outside, she fell a few times (which is TOTALLY normal) and didn't even wince or cry... what a toughie! We came home to share the news with Dad...
It was a LONG day for Payton!
Although Payton was in a cast and needed to be in a sling at all times unless resting, it did not slow her down in the least! Payton did everything she had done before her accident.
She laughed
She tried to get comfy
She bathed (with a plastic bag on her arm)
She brushed her teeth
She drank her water
She helped Mom with chores
and she was her CRAZY, ADORABLE self!
There were so many more things she did, this definitely didn't slow her down. In fact, she struggled somewhat crawling upstairs, so she decided that instead of crawling she should just walk up them... so now she is walking up stairs holding on to the railing.
And today, on Monday, May 27, we went back to ACH and had her cast removed and took more X-Rays to see that she is back to 100%. We are thankkful for her quick recovery!
She's the toughest little girl I know! Way to go Payton! Please come teach Katie how to suck it up!
